DJ 2018

Defender Jam 2018 was a lot of fun. The weather held just held out and the scenery was stunning. We had 6×6, Twisted, Bowler, RNLI, Fire Engine, tow truck, Cuthbertson, RRC, Series, 1, 2, 2a, and 3, Discovery’s, V8, 50th, SVX, Engine 710’s Rat Rod, Freelanders, 2x Adventures, Camel, G4, 101s right up to an impressive display from Taggarts Land Rover with new Velars,  Discovery, Vogues and an SVR. We had the very popular Green Laning track that incorporated – mud, grass, stone, stream and loch, yes we drove through part of the loch. There was a great community spirit with people helping to pull people out.

Food wise we had Fox Hat Food Serving from their 130 smoker, Bonnie Mountain coffee from their 110, One10 Catering serving pizza from their 110 and Artisan Cheesecakes serving lovely cheesecake from their Defender and horse box.
We had parts from KBX, YRM, Drivelodge, 4×4 Overlander etc, plus auto jumble and stalls with art, merchandise, toys and more. There was a graffiti mural being done throughout the day, while barbers cut hair on a cattle truck.
All the big Scottish specialists were present, Gibsons Auto Spares, Engine 710, Lix Toll, Retroworks, Strathearn Engineering, Lauderdale Land Rovers
18th of August was the fifth anniversary of Defender Jam creator Martyn’s brain injury and he wanted to donate to the centre that helped in his recovery, so there was a charity raffle to raise money for The Community Treatment For Brain Injury in Glasgow.  There were amazing prizes like Halo Headlights from Gibsons Auto Services, a Land Rover for the weekend from 4×4 Hire and Taggarts Land Rover, an afternoon off road experience from 4×4 Adventure Scotland, KBX Grille set, Service at Engine 710, plus prizes from sponsors Britpart and Exmoor and the stalls that were showing. These amazing prizes raised £476.64 for The Community Treatment For Brain Injury, and we are very grateful.
At night time their was live music from The Bulletholes and then the Compact Disco Defender DJ Box drove into the big barn, and the roof opened to reveal the DJ box where DJs Bobby Petta, Jay Gunning and Mash DJ’d until midnight. it was great to see all the traders, customers all letting their hair down and getting on at this friendly and relaxed festival.
The festival was a great success with a very family friendly atmosphere with plenty for the kids to do and quite a few mini Defenders driving about, and entertainment at night
This was a day for Land Rover fans to have fun, and we can’t wait until next year!
